What this website is for

This website is a way for grandparents and grandchildren all over the world to exchange their experiences of being with, or without, each other. It's for people to share what being a grandparent is like for them and what they remember about their own grandparents. It's an experiment. I hope it may become a book, and also a way to understand and feel in touch with each other's lives.

No matter where we live or who we are, grandparents have in common their relationship with their grandchildren. My hope is that by exploring it – here and elsewhere – we can help shape the kind of world we share with them, the world they'll inherit from us and pass on one day to children and grandchildren of their own.

This site has just begun. Please pass on any ideas you have about what it could do and be. I'd like to think we could pool our experiences and resources. They add up to a lot. Perhaps between us we can find ways to make the world a less dangerous place for people, old or young. Everywhere.
